Wondering thoughts

When I am away from my computer, I can think of all of these wonderful topics to write about in my blog. And then I get in front of the thing, and my thoughts start to wonder and nothing sounds like it would be anything that anyone would want to read.
Like right now, my thoughts are traveling all over the place. I think maybe they need a road map.
Speaking of roads, I was traveling down one the other day and noticed all the beautiful wild flowers in the side ditch. It made me smile just to see them.
Which brings me to the subject of smiles. I like to collect them. I love to smile at someone and watch how it can transform them. Sometimes I think it might be the only smile they give up in a single day.
My mind is now on how can parents not love their children. In my line of work, I have run into many different people. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of them were not loved when they were small. I hear some of their stories and just want to hug them and tell them I am so sorry that they are on their own with no one who cares. And then I see the parents come in with their children and treat them like they are garbage or dirt under their feet. Actually, I have seen, out in public, some parents that treat the dirt better than they do their offspring.
Speaking of spring, where did ours go? I don't think we ever get one anymore. We go from the freezing cold to the heat. I remember the springs when I was a child, and they weren't like these.
And then there is the government. . . I think I will stop now before my mind wonders totally away. Have a good journey of your own.

You know it's hot when:-

Our temperatures have been in the high 90's with heat index in the 110 - 120 range. So today I saw many different sights that made me say to myself, "You know when it's hot when:-". Here are some of my observations.
You know when it's hot when:-
You see someone get a dish of ice cream and it melts before they can put their change away.
When you see a woman dressed in a nice gausey dress, but failed to wear a slip and stands in a lighted door talking on a cell phone.
When you drive by an Amish home in the early morning hours on your way to work and their matresses are still out in their yard.
When the best free thing at a country fair is the paper fans on a stick.
When everyone you see looks like they have just taken a swim, but no one is wearing a bathing suit.
We will get through this heat wave and will complain about how cold it is in just a few more weeks. I guess we just can not get that perfect weather that we all crave.
